DIEGO RIVERA
By Ben and Ryan , Cape Elizabeth,
grade 5
This talking wall painted by Diego Rivera is in the Palace of Cortes
in Cuernavaca. This wall was started to be built and painted in
1929. He did many walls like this.
To help Diego Rivera imagine this battle between Hernan Cortes
and the Indians, he turned to the helpful hands of the Indians. Diego
Rivera started the wall because he wanted people to know about the battle
and the kind of Indians in Mexican history.
Ryan and I would like to be part of the wall because its part
of history and we think its very special. We would also like to visit one
of them because they all tell a story in their own way.
We have some questions for you:
#1. Would you like to be part of the
wall?
#2. Do you think that this wall has a message to
give?
#3. How long do you think it would take for Diego
Rivera to paint this wall
#4. Would you like to visit a wall like this
one?
