Siddhartha School Project

The Siddhartha School Club is composed of students interested in preserving Tibetan culture, which faces oppression from China. The club has two objectives:

  1. to raise student awareness of the human rights issues concerning Tibet today
  2. to raise money to support The Siddhartha School located in Ladakh, India.

As part of this second objective, students also sponsor a student at the school, contributing funds to help pay her tuition. At Cape, club members help organize lectures and meditation sessions and hold bake sales to raise money for the Siddhartha School. It is very easy for Cape students to be active in sports or competitive extracurricular activities and still participate in the the Siddhartha School Club, since meetings and events vary according to the schedules of student members.
