Test call from Parent-School Emergency Phone Notification System set for Dec. 6, 2010

November 19, 2010

Dear Parents and Staff,

Keeping you informed is a top priority for the Cape Elizabeth School Department. That’s why we have adopted the preK-12 Notification Service that will allow us to send a telephone, text or e-mail message to you providing important information about school emergencies. We will use this system to notify you of school delays, early releases or cancellations due to inclement weather, as well as any other school emergencies.

What you need to know about receiving calls sent through the PreK-12 Notification System

• Caller ID will display the school or district’s main number (799-2217) when a general announcement is
delivered.
• The System will leave a message on any answering machine or voicemail.
• The System cannot dial extensions.
The successful delivery of information is dependent upon accurate contact information for each student, so please make certain that we have your most current phone numbers and/or e-mail address. If this information changes during the year, please let us know immediately.

We will be launching a test call on Monday, December 6, 2010 at 7:00 PM. If you do not receive this call,
please submit the information requested on the form below to your school office immediately so we can update our records. We sincerely appreciate your cooperation, and if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.

We are very excited to incorporate this system as a tool to improve parent communication and look forward to having the ability to deliver real-time information to you.

Sincerely yours,
Alan H. Hawkins
Superintendent of Schools
