CEHS Junior George Haffenreffer at Eggs and Issues

The Portland Regional Chamber of Commerce hosts a monthly breakfast meeting for local professionals who gather at the Holiday Inn by the Bay for networking, conversations, and a keynote or panel on a current topic of importance. On Wednesday March 11th the topic was "The Future Workforce- Developing Student-Business Partnerships and the panel included members of the Community Collaborators Collective. Members of the C3, a professional group of educators from 33 local districts including Cape Elizabeth, work to connect students and local professionals for internships, job shadows, mock interviews, and other opportunities that connect classroom learning and the "Real World".

The Chamber generously offers high school students free admission to these events and CEHS is able to accept this invitation as a result of programming at the HUB. Riding the success of this most recent visit, we plan to make this monthly event a regular opportunity for students to step outside the campus border, cross the bridge, and begin to build their professional networks.
