We will make use of the school home page and to post cancellations or delays, and will send an early morning email to parents through PowerSchool. Decisions regarding delays and cancellations are typically made by
5:30 a.m.

In the case of an emergency, such as an early release, we will call, text, and email you simultaneously.
Parents, please make sure your PowerSchool contact information is up to date to make sure you don't miss out on any information.

As a backup, you might wish to subscribe to one of the local news stations, to which we also provide closure information, for text or e‐mail notifications. Be aware that standard text and data rates apply. Information for these services is provided below:

On occasion we may utilize a two‐hour delayed opening on days of inclement weather. While this option is used sparingly, it can allow us to salvage an educational day when faced with certain weather/road conditions. In the case of a two‐hour delay, school start times and bus pick‐up times are pushed back exactly two hours. Dismissal would be at the regular times.

If it becomes necessary to cancel or delay the start of school due to inclement weather, the decision will be made by 6 a.m. "No-school and delayed opening" announcements will also be provided by the services listed at the bottom of this page.

Community Services closures will be provided on the Community Services Web page

The process for assessing road conditions begins in the very early morning and involves a multitude of individuals. The final decision is based primarily on the advice received from the United States Weather Bureau and the Public Works Department regarding road conditions. It is the obligation of the Public Works Department to plow the streets first to enable access by fire and police. After the streets are plowed, the parking lots of the schools and other public buildings are cleared.

If school is canceled due to inclement weather, Community Services classes starting prior to 9 a.m. will be canceled as well. Please check the Community Services web page or call Community Services, 207-799-2868 for information regarding programs starting after 9 a.m. If the weather becomes questionable after the school day, please check program status after 4 p.m. for cancellation information.
