The CEHS Outing Club under direction of teachers Scott Shea and Elaine Brassard ran a wildly successful rafting trip on the Kennebec River on the weekend of October 2-3, 2021. Twenty-five participants arrived in The Forks late Saturday night, quickly pitching individual tents in the dark. The next day dawned warm (for this time of year) and sunny, just in time to slide into wet wetsuits and jump into one of four rafts. Big water, great guides, colorful fall leaves, and plenty of splashing from the river and each other made the day joyous. Special thanks to Teens to Trails for a grant to support transportation and our bus driver, Monica Cooke, for her good humor and participation in all the festivities. What a great weekend!
