Cape Robotics hosted its annual qualifying tournament at CEMS on Saturday, December 10th. Teams from Cape, York, Yarmouth, Windham, NYA and Boothbay competed head-to-head in a challenge featuring disc-throwing, roller turning, and a one time end-game deployment.
Cape Robotics (team 56) performed incredibly well, placing three of the top four teams going into alliance selection! Team 56K (CEMS students Alex Markott, Patrick Rolfe, Ben Foley, Bennett Kang) took the Judges Award. 56R (Ezra Gabrielson, Alex Kang, Aman Khare) took both the Robot Skills Championship and Tournament Finalist awards, and 56W (Jack and Bella Wark, Liam Nudd, Gillian Lench) took the High School Excellence Award. With their performances, 56R and 56W both earned invitations to the Maine State High School Championship in February.
