ESEA (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) Federal Title Grants

Cape Elizabeth School Department is accepting ESEA Application Comments ​

Cape Elizabeth School Department receives funding through the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) of 1965. Applications for funding are approved annually by the Maine Department of Education(MDOE). In accordance with ESEA, Cape Elizabeth School Department is required to provide reasonable opportunity for public comment on the consolidated application and consider such comment prior to submission of the application. Cape Elizabeth School Department is accepting public comment on the ESEA application through July 17, 2024 by 3:00pm.  The ESEA application is located on the Cape Elizabeth School Department website. The public’s engagement in our grant application process is important, encouraged and appreciated. 

The grant applications can be accessed through the link in the title of this section. A summary description and Title allocations for the FY24 application are as follows:

Title I (Allocation = $20,894.64)

Title I funds are used to provide supplemental academic support to qualifying 1st grade students at Pond Cove Elementary School through 1:1 intervention.

Title II (Allocation = $37,550.28)

Title II funds are used for professional development projects in literacy, math & content areas and to support efforts to promote social and emotional instructional practices and supports in our schools and classrooms. 

Title IV (Allocation = $10,000)

Title IV allocation is used to provide teachers with embedded instructional support and coaching.

School Report Cards

The federal Every Child Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires all states, school districts, and schools to provide annual report cards to parents and the community that identify achievement and progress of students and schools, information about attendance, graduation rates, and information on highly qualified teachers, as well as status of ESEA accountability. The data gleaned from the dashboard serves to inform school and district improvement initiatives.This information, identified in the Annual Report Card, can be accessed through the Maine Department of Education (MDOE) ESSA Data Dashboard.

Report Fraud, Waste, or Abuse to our Hotline
