During Read Across America Week the kindergarteners in Mrs. Marsden's class blasted off to learning! Using the book Rocket Says Look Up! as a mentor text, students began learning more about outer space. Throughout the week students used space as a theme to access learning goals. In addition, Mrs. Marsden’s class had the incredible opportunity to Skype with Dr. James Miley at the ALMA Observatory in Santiago, Chile. Dr. Miley taught the class about recent discoveries and astrophysics in addition to answering all of the very challenging questions posed by the kindergarten scientists. This opportunity was made possible through the Skype A Scientist program.
