Digital Breakouts help our Students think critically

In a "normal" year, one of the favorite activities of students at Pond Cove is BreakoutEDU.  BreakoutEDU is an educational Escape room, designed particularly for students. There are puzzles that students have to solve in order to accomplish a goal. Teachers love to use Breakouts because students think critically, communicate and collaborate.  Students love Breakouts because they are exciting ways to learn and feel like a game.

There are two types of Breakouts, hands-on and digital. Due to the pandemic, we have been using digital Breakouts this year which we share with students on their iPad and through Google Classroom.

To finish our 3rd-grade integration block, we found a Digital Breakout all about Fractions, which the students were learning in math. The hypothetical situation was all about Pizza Deliveries needing to get out on time. Students had fun, were engaged, and learned that the smartest person in the room, is the room!
