We need YOUR input.

The district is in the process of conducting a comprehensive review of the English Language Arts curriculum and programs used in the schools. The purpose of the review is to take a comprehensive, evidence-based look at our current instructional practices and the programs we use with the intent of answering these questions:

  • Are they well matched to meet the needs of our students?
  • Are we seeing the desired outcome in terms of student performance and growth?

There are two surveys we're using to gather information - one for parents/guardians of students in grades K-8 and another for students in grades 9-12. Please provide your feedback by completing the survey for your child's grade level. If you have children in different grade levels, please fill out a separate survey for each child.

-   Parent/Guardian Survey Grades K-8

Parent/Guardian Survey Grades 9-12

In 5-10 minutes, you'll be able to provide valuable information by sharing your opinions, experiences and insight as a parent/ guardian about the ELA program and practices. The survey is anonymous - please be encouraged to share your thinking honestly as survey results will be used to inform the review recommendations. The survey will remain open through January 1st, 2024. Information and data are needed to conduct a thorough review. While quantitative data will be used in some aspects, qualitative data will be equally important to lead us to meaningful and relevant recommendations. Stakeholder feedback - from teachers, students, and parents/guardians - will play a key role in the process. This is where we need you! Thank you for your time and effort to share with us this important feedback and, most importantly, for your partnership and ongoing support of our schools. Seasons Greetings! The ELA Steering Committee
