CEMS recently celebrated the incredible work of their 5th–8th grade students as they unveiled their powerful murals advocating for climate change awareness.
Over the past several months, students have collaborated with Visual Arts Teacher, Marguerite Lawler-Rohner, Climate Activist Lillian Worthley and Visiting Artists Rachel and Ryan Adams to explore how art can be used as a tool for advocacy. Each grade has created a unique mural that reflects their learning, creativity, and voice around the pressing issue of climate change.
Teachers were invited to bring their classes to view the murals and engage in conversations about the role of art in inspiring change.
It was a wonderful celebration of student creativity, advocacy, and collaboration!
This grant was presented with generous support from CEEF.
