For the second consecutive year, the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) has awarded the Cape Elizabeth High School's Bartleby Literary Magazine (2025 edition) the highest honor of First Class in the Recognizing Excellence in Art and Literary Magazines (REALM) program.
The award-winning 2025 edition was led by student editors Maddy T. and Matilda G., with Lauren Tarantino serving as the faculty advisor.

Out of 456 entries from 44 states and six countries this year, only 135 magazines achieved the First Class designation. This marks another milestone for the Bartleby which also received an “Excellent” rank from the NCTE in 2021.
